Diane Watson

Dr. Diane Watson was recently re-appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Bureau of Health Information in New South Wales, Australia. She was previously inaugural and Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Victorian Agency for Health Information in Australia.

Dr Watson has 20 years of senior management experience in leading organisational change in the healthcare sector in Canada and Australia. She was the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Performance Authority from 2012 to 2016, which was established by all Australian governments to monitor, and report on, the performance of more than 1000 public and private hospitals and 300 health regions. Its work is available on the MyHospitals and MyHealthyCommunities websites now managed by the Australian Institute for Health and Welfare. Dr Watson was the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of the New South Wales Bureau of Health Information from 2009 to 2012. Prior to that, she held senior executive and senior scientist roles in Canada.
